Residual damp

Residual damp

So-called residual dampness describes the amount of moisture that a screed, levelling compound or other substrate can give off until it has reached a hardened condition of equilibrium or moisture balance. If the amount of water that the substrate can give off is damaging for the flooring, one speaks of increased residual damp that needs to be removed or separated (blocked, checked) with a suitable method.
